Beginning June 3rd, TherapyNotes will start transitioning existing practices from DoseSpot to DrFirst for ePrescribing. This migration will occur in phases, and each practice will receive an email notification when it is their time to begin the process.
During this transition period, users can continue performing ePrescribing tasks as usual while completing the required steps 1 and 2, until scheduling the data migration in step 3. This guide outlines the necessary steps for a smooth and uninterrupted transition to DrFirst, helping your practice avoid disruptions in prescribing workflows.
Prerequisites for the Transition
To prepare for the transition, the following details must be entered in the prescriber's Staff Info tab:
- Suffix
- NPI number
- State license(s)
- Work Phone Number
- Address
To begin the transition, follow these steps:
Step 1: Acknowledge the Terms of Service (ToS)
Individual users will see a Terms of Service banner appear on the following pages, and must acknowledge and accept it by selecting Sign the updated Terms of Service:
- Home Page
- Patient eRx Tab
- Staff eRx Tab
- eRx Notifications
This step is required before they can continue using ePrescribe features.
Step 2: Identity Proofing (IDP) and EPCS Enrollment (if applicable)
Depending on your prescribing role, complete the following:

For Prescription Support and Non-EPCS Prescribers:

You will receive an IDP email invitation.

Complete the IDP process only.

This grants access to the Patient eRx tab.

For EPCS Prescribers:

You will receive an invitation for IDP and EPCS Gold Standard enrollment.

Complete both enrollment steps.

Contact our Support Team afterward to finalize enrollment.

Step 3: Schedule and Confirm Migration
Once all clinicians have accepted the new ePrescribe Terms of Service and completed enrollment:
- Coordinate with your practice to schedule a suitable time for the migration.
- Contact our Support Team to confirm completion of all prerequisites and schedule the migration.
Once all prescribers in your practice have completed these requirements, we’ll assist in scheduling and coordinating the after-hours migration of your ePrescribe data. Data migration takes an estimate of 10 minutes, which includes transferring patient information, medication histories, preferred pharmacy and diagnoses. Once the migration is complete, your practice will begin using ePrescribe immediately.
- It is strongly recommended that all users accept the new Terms of Service before migration.
- Users who have not accepted the ToS before migration will need to re-enroll via the Staff eRx tab.
- Make sure to communicate clearly with all prescribers and staff before scheduling your migration.
