Practices using ePrescribe can enroll for PDMP Easy Access, which gives prescribers quicker and simpler access to prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) summaries. With PDMP Easy Access, prescribers who are enrolled for EPCS can view a patient’s prescription history before prescribing a new controlled substance without needing to log in to the state’s PDMP system.
Request PDMP Easy Access
Click Settings > ePrescribe > Request PDMP Easy Access
In the Request PDMP Easy Access dialog, your own contact information will be entered by default.
If you want to switch to a different contact person, enter their Point of Contact Name and Point of Contact Email. When you're finished, click Submit Request.
After submitting your request, a message will display in the Easy Access to Prescription Drug Programs Panel indicating the request was sent. Watch for an email from your PDMP vendor with registration instructions. Once you're registered, TherapyNotes Support will send an email letting you know when PDMP Easy Access has been activated. A message indicating that PDMP Easy Access is enabled will also appear in the Easy Access to Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs panel.
Using PDMP Easy Access
With PDMP Easy Access enabled for the practice, a request for a patient’s PDMP summary is automatically generated for review when a prescriber visits the patient's eRx page.
- Open a patient’s chart and navigate to the eRx tab.
- Locate the Medications panel, where the option to view PDMP data will appear.
- Select View PDMP Data.
- From here, you can review the available PDMP data for your patient.
- Once you have reviewed their PDMP data, you may close the report by clicking Hide PDMP Data. The View PDMP button will turn green, indicating that you’ve reviewed the PDMP data.
