Each year in the U.S., nearly 25% of new prescriptions and 50% of refills go unclaimed at the pharmacy—posing significant risks to patient health. RxInform is helping to change that. Through timely, patient-centered messaging, RxInform has empowered millions of Americans to stay on top of their medications and make it to the pharmacy.
RxInform helps ensure patients stay informed and engaged with their prescriptions. By default, when a provider submits an electronic prescription, RxInform sends the patient a text message. This message includes a link to a HIPAA-compliant website where the patient can view prescription and pharmacy details. The site also offers educational resources and available discounts—all designed to support medication adherence and improve health outcomes.
Prescriber Experience
When prescribing a medication, the RxInform checkbox is auto selected with the associated phone number prepopulated, enhancing user convenience and streamlining the communication process.
If you do not wish to send the patient education or potential discount program details for this prescription, simply uncheck the box. Should at any point the patient reply STOP to this text message, the checkbox will be unchecked by default going forward.
Patient Experience
If the prescriber chose to send, the patient will receive a text message to the provided phone number with a link to access RxInform, a HIPAA-compliant site with detailed information about their prescription, pharmacy and other resources.
- In the text message, the patient should tap the RxInform link to get started.
- The patient will be asked to provide their date of birth to verify their identity.
- Once logged in, they will be able to review details about their prescription and the pharmacy, as well as educational materials and discount program opportunities.
