When prescribing, it’s important to ensure a pharmacy is set for the patient. If no default pharmacy is selected, you’ll see a banner at the top of the patient’s chart that says: “Please set the default pharmacy.”
You can add a pharmacy by selecting the banner at the top of the chart or from the Patient Information section in the middle of the screen.
Role Required: Enrolled ePrescribe Prescriber or Prescription Support
To Search for a Pharmacy
- Choose the type of pharmacy you’re looking for:
- Retail
- Mail Order
- Specialty
- Long-Term Care
- In-House Dispensing
- (Optional) Filter your results using pharmacy options such as:
- 24-hour availability
- EPCS-enabled (Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances)
- If you know the pharmacy’s name or address, you can type it directly into the search fields.
- Click the Search button.
- From the search results, click the pharmacy you wish to select.
- Once selected, the pharmacy is automatically added to the patient’s profile and set as the default pharmacy for future prescriptions.
