Our ePrescribe solution within TherapyNotes enables providers to efficiently manage medications, allergies, and diagnoses from a centralized location. This guide provides a walkthrough of the patient-level experience, detailing how to navigate and prescribe the patient's eRx tab.
Accessing ePrescribe
To access ePrescribe for a specific patient:
- Navigate to the Patients tab.
- Select the appropriate patient name.
- Click the eRx tab to open the ePrescribe interface for that patient.
Navigating the eRx Patient Tab
When you open the eRx tab, you’ll be taken to the ePrescribe interface organized into several panels. Each panel presents key patient information and actions related to prescribing.
Patient Overview Panel
The top panel is your starting point and includes:
- Preferred Pharmacy and Address: Displays the patient’s current pharmacy. You also have the option to add or remove the pharmacy, as needed. For more information on adding a pharmacy to the patient's chart, see Adding a Pharmacy in ePrescribe.
- Create New Rx: Use this icon to start a new prescription for the patient.
- Favorites: Click the star icon to access your list of favorite prescriptions for quick entry.
- Patient Information: Includes demographics, prescription benefits, and more.
- Eligibility Details: If available, you’ll see a patient benefit conflicts icon and an option to view their eligibility details.
Allergies Panel
Located directly below the top panel, this tab displays any allergies that have been entered for the patient. Keeping allergy information up to date is critical for safe prescribing.

Medications Panel
The medications panel contains:
- Active Medications
- Review Status
- Medication History
- An option to view inactive medications
This panel provides a comprehensive look at the patient’s medication records for accurate and informed prescribing. For additional information on adding and managing medications, see Managing Medications in ePrescribe.
Diagnoses/Problems Panel
Below the medications panel, you’ll find the Diagnoses or Problems panel. This section includes:
- Active Diagnoses
- An option to select NKD (No Known Diagnoses) if none are applicable

Prescription Management Panel
At the bottom of the page is the Prescription Management panel. Here you can view all drugs—both scheduled and non-scheduled—along with their current statuses:
- Pending
- Completed
- Undeliverable
- Canceled
