TherapyNotes Secure Messaging allows staff and clients to communicate privately within the platform. You can create a Contact Note directly from a Secure Message for documentation or record-keeping. Contact Notes serve as non-clinical communication records between a staff member and a client or a client's contact.
Navigate to Your Secure Messages
- Open TherapyNotes and go to Secure Messages.
- Locate the secure message you’d like to document in a Contact Note.
- Click on the subject line to open the message.
In the upper right-hand corner of the thread you’d like to create a Contact Note, select Create Contact Note.
You’ll be asked to confirm if you’d like to Create a Contact Note.
You’ll be redirected to a new Contact Note. Complete the fields:
- A. Method of Communication – Secure messaging will be the selected method.
- B. Reason for Communication –The subject from the message thread will be automatically populated, but you can edit as needed.
- C. Billing Information (if applicable) – Enter any relevant billing details.
- D. Communication Details – Summarize the conversation or key points from the secure message thread.
You can view the original conversation for reference by selecting “Original Conversation.” The thread will appear for easy review, but will not be saved to the note.
Like other note types in TherapyNotes, you can edit, download, print, view revision history, or delete the note.
