Navigating TherapyNotes
TherapyNotes uses a variety of tools to help make your experience better, faster, and easier. This article covers some of the helpful features which allow you to easily navigate and use TherapyNotes.
Main Navigation Menu
The main navigation menu appears at the top of every page in TherapyNotes. Click on any menu item (B) to jump quickly to a specific area of your account, and click on the TherapyNotes clipboard (A) to return to your Welcome page from anywhere within TherapyNotes.
To the right of the menu items are two icons: the User Icon (C) and the Search Icon (D).
User Icon
Click the User Icon to access your Profile, your Settings, our Help Center, and our Contact page. This is also where you log out of TherapyNotes.
(A) Profile: Profile links to your personal staff profile, allowing you to easily view your User Information and To-Do list. Also on this page are tabs to access other pages, such as Scheduling, Billing, Patients, and Work Schedule. The tabs available to you will vary depending on your role within TherapyNotes.
(B) Settings: Use this link to access all of the settings that you are able to configure. The settings that are available to you depend on your role within TherapyNotes.
(C) Help: Our Help Center features hundreds of articles on a variety of topics from insurance billing to account access as well as our community of TherapyNotes users to share tips, feedback, and experiences.
(D) Contact Us: Click Contact Us to easily get in touch with our support team if you ever need assistance. You can also find your Practice Code on this page in the Support sectoin, which is important for allowing our support team to assist you.
(E) Log Out: Use this link to end your TherapyNotes session. To protect your account, log out each time you finish using TherapyNotes.
Search Bar
The Search Icon allows you to search for any page in your TherapyNotes account or our Help Center, making it a great shortcut to jump straight to a specific page in TherapyNotes or quickly search for help articles in our Help Center.
Navigation Tools
Practice Code
Your Practice Code is a unique identifier for your account and is used along with your username and password to log in to TherapyNotes. It is important to have when contacting our support team. To find your Practice Code, click the User Icon > Contact Us and look in the Support section, OR click the User Icon > Settings > Practice Information and navigate to Accessing Your Account.
Edit Icon
Editable data such as client, staff, and payer information feature convenient View and Edit modes, allowing you to view information in an easily readable format and easily toggle Edit mode whenever information needs to be changed or added. When information in TherapyNotes can be changed, the Edit icon is visible in the upper right corner of the content box. Click anywhere on the box to edit or add information.
Save Buttons
Green Save buttons are located on the bottom left of every page that you make changes to. If you try to navigate away from the page before saving your changes, your browser will give you a warning to confirm that you want to leave the page without saving.
Add Buttons
Blue Add buttons are located on the top right of any page where you can add items such as appointments, clients, payers, etc. Use these buttons to add new information to your account.
Tooltips
Question mark icons known as tooltips can be found throughout TherapyNotes. Hover your cursor over the icon to see additional information about the corresponding item.
Many hyperlinked items, such as client names and dates of service, also feature tooltips. Quickly reference information related to these items by hovering your cursor over the hyperlink.
Table and List Options
Options to Export Spreadsheet, Print, and Select Columns accompany many of the lists and tables in TherapyNotes. Click the Export Spreadsheet link to download the data in the table as an Excel spreadsheet format, which will allow you to further manipulate the data generated by TherapyNotes as desired. Click the Select Columns link to change which columns are displayed in the table – how many columns can be displayed will vary based on your monitor size.
